The Jets had to qualify their RFAs by 4 PM this afternoon and they have done just that tendering offers to:
Neal Pionk
Andrew Copp
Logan Stanley
Johnny Kovacevic
Pionk and Copp both are arbitration eligible.
The Jets did not extend offers to the following players who will become free agents:
Marko Dano – The familiar forward came back to Winnipeg on a one year deal last season. He was injured before the AHL season began and would be limited to playing just 13 games in the AHL with the Moose. He was part of the Jets taxi squad in the playoffs.
Skyler McKenzie – The 7th round pick of the Jets in 2017 plays hard which has led to injury for the 23 year old forward during his time in the pros. He played 26 games for Manitoba this season scoring five goals and adding three assists although he had his season cut short due to injury. McKenzie was at the end of his three-year entry-level contract.
Cole Kehler – Prior to the start of the 2020-21 season the Winkler, Manitoba product signed an AHL deal with the Moose. He would see that upgraded to an NHL deal with the Jets in April for the remainder of the season. He picked up his first AHL win for the Moose when he came into the game for Mikhail Berdin in the 3rd period of a wild contest which saw the homeside score four times in the final frame.
Luke Green – It was an incredibly unusual 2020-21 season for the Jets 3rd round selection from 2016. He has dealt with a lot of injuries early in his career but there was some excitement around him coming into this one. Instead he didn’t play a game for Manitoba and then went to Finland where he was placed on loan by the Jets with Sport Vaasa but which ultimately saw him terminate his contract 12 days and two games later. His playing status appears to be up in the air.
