Note: The first move of the day occurred before free agency began with the trade of Paul Stastny back to the Jets. You can listen to his conference call here. Free agency kicked off for the Jets with the signing of Nathan Beaulieu to a two-year contract and you can watch/listen to his full media availability here. This was followed by a Luca Sbisa one-year deal being announced and the first of the Jets RFAs with Mason Appleton being inked to a two-year deal. The day ended with Jets GM Kevin Cheveldayoff speaking about the moves he made as well as him providing an update on Bryan Little which confirmed doctors recommendations that the veteran centre not play this season. We also looked at which players have left the Jets/Moose organization for new teams.
Note II: What will the second day of free agency bring? Who knows! But what we do know is there will be three hours of the Illegal Curve Hockey Show on TSN 1290 Winnipeg starting at 9 AM. We hope you’ll join us. You can listen here.
