It’s been a long road to this point, but Jets defence prospect Elias Salomonsson is ready to get back into game action after undergoing shoulder surgery last April.
It was a frustrating end to his season after he suffered the first concussion of his career while up with Winnipeg, bringing his NHL season to an end. He eventually returned to the lineup for Manitoba’s playoff run but managed to play in just two elimination games before suffering the shoulder injury that required surgery.
Here was play that took Jets prospect Elias Salomonsson out of game late in 3rd.
He went for a hit in the neutral zone but ended up sliding hard into the boards.
You can see him testing out his shoulder after the play.

The good news is that Salomonsson is ahead of schedule, having originally been projected to return in late October. His return will provide a welcome boost to the Jets’ defensive depth, particularly with top-pairing defenceman Josh Morrissey currently sidelined on a week-to-week basis.
He has been loaned to the Moose where he’ll get a chance to play this afternoon at 2 PM CT.
