As training camp is close to coming to an end we heard from Jets head coach Scott Arniel who provided an update on a trio of players who are still dealing with injuries including Elias Salomonsson, Walker Duehr and prospect Garrett Brown.

Elias Salomonsson
We saw Salomonsson join the skate today in a yellow, non-contact jersey. Arniel said the Jets defenceman is “ahead of schedule,” which is what we reported over a month ago. While he would not give an exact timeline, Arniel said Salomonsson is “not the end of the month” and is likely somewhere around the middle of next month. The focus now will be on conditioning and getting him ready for battles. He will remain in a yellow jersey next week.
Walker Duehr
“Needs to rehab. It’s not perfect right now,” Arniel said of Duehr, calling it a slower recovery. The South Dakota product is dealing with a lower-body injury.
Garrett Brown
Arniel said Brown is “moving a lot better” and believes the prospect is off crutches, although he was not certain whether he has returned to the ice. He confirmed Brown did not require surgery. The prospect was injured at the Prospect Challenge (see here) and it was initially feared he could be done for the season. While a tough way to start his first full pro season, seems like he got very good news when it comes to this injury.
