An updated look at the remaining UFAs and RFAs for the Winnipeg Jets and Manitoba Moose

An update at where the Jets and Moose stand in terms of their UFAs and RFAs.

When the 2018-19 season concluded Jets GM Kevin Cheveldayoff had quite a number of players to get signed for next season.  In fact between the Jets and Moose franchises that number totaled 26 players.  Since that time he has begun to strike some names off the list including:

Jets:
UFA Kevin Hayes – rights traded to the Flyers;
RFA Laurent Brossoit – signed to a one-year contract;

Moose:
RFA Logan Shaw – signed to a one-year contract;
RFA CJ Suess – signed to a one-year contract;
UFA Seth Griffith – signed to a one-year contract;
UFA JC Lipon – signed to a one-year contract.

Which brings the total number of remaining players to be signed, traded or to walk to 20. On twitter Finnish journalist Pekka Jalonen suggested at the end of April that Bogdan Kiselevich (whom the Jets got in a trade with the Panthers at the deadline) would be heading to the KHL next season.  I would cut that number by two more players as neither Nicolas Kerdiles or Alex Broadhurst are expected to be offered a contract for next season from the Jets.

Of course the 17 remaining contain the big guns including:

Jets unrestricted free agents (5):

Brandon Tanev
Par Lindholm
Matt Hendricks
Tyler Myers
Ben Chiarot

Jets restricted free agents (6):

Andrew Copp (Arbitration eligible)
Patrik Laine
Kyle Connor
Jacob Trouba (Arbitration eligible)
Nathan Beaulieu (Arbitration eligible)
Joe Morrow (Arbitration eligible)

Moose unrestricted free agent (1):

Cameron Schilling

Moose restricted free agents (5):

Marko Dano (Arbitration eligible)
Nelson Nogier
Jimmy Oligny (Arbitration eligible)
Eric Comrie (Arbitration eligible)
Ken Appleby (Arbitration eligible)

With the NHL Entry Draft just a few weeks away this list will continue to get whittled down and should make for an exciting few weeks here in Winnipeg.
