Another key piece of the Manitoba Moose since the return of the team to Winnipeg gets a new deal as the Jets and JC Lipon agreed to a one-year, two-way deal with an AAV of $700,000.00.  In 60 games with the Moose last season he had 11 goals and 15 assists.  A shoulder injury took him out towards the end of the season which unfortunately for Manitoba came during their push for a playoff spot.

He is the longest tenured member on the Moose. When asked about his status at the Moose exit meetings back in mid April the veteran had this to say “I’ve loved my time here. I would definitely want to come back. I just have to talk to my agent and kinda lay everything out.  Winnipeg is definitely a second home for me and I’m close to home (in Regina) and I love playing here. Wouldn’t be surprised if you saw me here next year”.  Less than a month later he is back in the fold.

Lipon was drafted by Winnipeg in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft in the third round.
