Note: The Jets were off on Wednesday after returning to the city following the Miracle in Montreal but they are back in business today when they face the Canucks this evening. Morning skate for Winnipeg gets underway at 10:30 AM CDT so stay tuned for the pre-game report to ensure you’re up-to-date on the latest. Puck drop is at 7 PM CDT.
Note II: This evening, after the final buzzer sounds between Winnipeg and Vancouver, we want you to be part of the conversation on the Illegal Curve Post-Game Show as we discuss and analyze the results of the game starting around 9:40 PM CDT.
Note III: We also learned yesterday that Jets prospect Brad Lambert cleared waivers after being placed on them for the first time in his career and was assigned to the Moose. While it’s been a difficult start to the season for the 2022 first-rounder, he’ll now have an opportunity to rediscover his offensive touch and rebuild his confidence with a Manitoba team that leads the AHL in goals scored.
Note IV: Speaking of Manitoba’s AHL club, the Moose were back on the ice for practice yesterday as they continue preparations for tomorrow’s game against the Marlies in Winnipeg. They also welcomed Jets defence prospect Garrett Brown, who was loaned to the Moose as he works toward making his season debut after suffering an injury at the prospect tournament in September. Brown remains in a yellow non-contact jersey but continues to make progress in his recovery. The team is scheduled to practice today at 10:30 AM CDT.
Note V: Former Jets netminder Connor Hellebuyck addressed Winnipeg fans yesterday, releasing a letter on Instagram nearly two weeks after his trade to New Jersey. He acknowledged the frustration surrounding his departure, referenced private family circumstances and thanked fans for their support. Reaction has been mixed, with many underwhelmed by his message. With the Devils visiting Winnipeg next week, it remains to be seen whether he’ll offer anything further although our expectation is this will likely be the end of it.
Note VI: The torrid start to the season continued last night for Oakbank, Manitoba’s Owen Martin (2025 3rd) who had two goals and an assist for Spokane including the OT winner. That gives the Jets prospect 11 goals in 10 games for the Chiefs which is quite the jump from the 26 goals in 65 games he had last season.
