Manitoba Moose Practice Report

Another day on the ice as they prepare to face the defending champs this weekend in Winnipeg.

The Moose were off the ice yesterday but were out in the community, with players spending time at Siloam Mission helping those less fortunate in our city. Today, they return to the ice for another practice as they prepare to face the Marlies this weekend in Winnipeg.

The team could have Brad Lambert back tomorrow if he clears waivers today, although my guess is that a team like the Flames or Canucks will claim him. If he does clear, it would be a great opportunity for the 2022 first-rounder to regain his scoring touch with a Manitoba team that leads the AHL in goals scored. We also expect the Jets to make a recall ahead of tomorrow’s game (unless Josh Morrissey is ready to come off IR), although that move likely won’t happen until Thursday.

Loaned:

As I was heading to skate at hockey for all centre we got the news that the Jets had loaned D prospect Garrett Brown to the Moose as he reaches the next step in his recovery from a lower-body injury suffered during the prospect tournament.

Skate news:

Everyone was present and accounted for. Notable that Noah Gregor left the ice early, just before the midpoint of practice.

Lines:

Wahlin – Yager – Chibrikov
Gregor – Zhilkin – Ford
He – Julien – Barlow
Burnside – Yoder – Duehr

Up next:

One final day of practice tomorrow before they welcome the Marlies to town on Friday night.
