Winnipeg Jets Morning Papers: Today’s Hockey Headlines | May 31, 2026

A daily roundup of Jets, Moose coverage — all the pro hockey news that matters in Manitoba and beyond.

Note: The Jets are done. The Moose are done. We will still try to get you anything relevant to the pro hockey clubs of Manitoba during the next little bit. Of course the big focus is on the 2026 NHL Draft for which the Jets hold the 8th overall selection. We will be spending quite a bit of time learning about the players who could hear their name get called by Winnipeg at the end of June. You can also check out our chat with Craig Button as it pertains to the pick here.

Note II: Lots of Manitoba connections in this year’s Stanley Cup Final between Carolina and Vegas. The Hurricanes have Seth Jarvis and Jordan Martinook, while the Golden Knights feature Mark Stone, Brett Howden, and Keegan Kolesar. In addition, former Jets Nikolaj Ehlers and Dylan Coghlan are also part of the series. Since the Jets aren’t playing is there a team or player that you’re pulling for? Maybe you don’t care. Let us know in the comments.

Jets news:

Daily Faceoff: Does Connor Hellebuyck move on from the Jets this summer? Matt feels he will stay and I suspect he is right. He will want to see how this season plays out before I think it gets to that next step for either the player or the team.
