Note: The Jets are done. The Moose are done. We will still try to get you anything relevant to the pro hockey clubs of Manitoba during the next little bit. Of course the big focus is on the 2026 NHL Draft for which the Jets hold the 8th overall selection. We will be spending quite a bit of time learning about the players who could hear their name get called by Winnipeg at the end of June. Note II: Big tournament for Ville Heinola as the Jets defenceman won gold with Finland yesterday at the 2026 IIHF World Championship. Nice way for him to end his season.Meanwhile, Jets winger Nino Niederreiter took home silver with Switzerland. It’s the fifth time he’s earned a silver medal for his country. Lastly, Mark Scheifele, Gabriel Vilardi and Dylan DeMelo finished 4th after Canada lost the bronze medal game to Norway in OT.

IIHF: Helenius scores the golden goal. The Nordic nation took home the gold defeating the Swiss on home ice in a hell of a good hockey game that needed OT to decide the winner.
