Winnipeg Jets Morning Papers

Note: The Jets were off on Sunday following a pair of wins to start the road trip in Florida.  Today they are in Nashville and will hit the ice for a practice as they get ready to face the Predators tomorrow night.  Check back for the Practice Report.

Note II:  The Moose are on an incredible run having won six straight including yesterday’s 5-2 victory over the Rampage.  The success for Manitoba coincides with the play of Mikhail Berdin who has stopped 215 of 220 shots he has faced in the last six games.  The team will hit the ice for a practice today before they head out on the road for seven games.  Let the Practice Report bring you up to speed.  Update:  Mikhail Berdin was named the CCM/AHL Player of the Week.

Jets news:

TSN:  Beaulieu helps settle Jets’ blueline turbulence.  There has been quite a bit of need for stabilization but it has been clear when you hear him speak how frustrating it was being out to start the year and it is clear he is getting more comfortable now that he has some games under his belt.

Winnipeg Sun:  ‘Scrappy’ Jets gaining an identity at season’s quarter-mark.  More identity talk as the Jets appear to have turned a corner a bit since the month of November hit and they’ve gone 6-1-1.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Change might be coming for Jets’ fourth line.  (Paywall).  They best not look back at the Moose because Andrei Chibisov and Jansen Harkins are banging on the door.

The Athletic Winnipeg:  If the surging Jets have truly turned a corner, they could look back to this road trip as the turning point.  (Paywall).  Murat with some reasons for optimism for a Jets squad that has dealt with a lot of pessimism already this season.
