Winnipeg Jets Morning Papers: Today’s Hockey Headlines | Mar 29, 2026

Note: The Jets started their road trip in Colorado as they wrapped up a home-and-home set with the Avalanche. Somehow they never trailed in the game en route to a 4-2 victory which put them just three points back of the Preds (who lost last night) for the final wild card spot. They are off today.

Note II: The Moose were also in action last night and they were able to arrest their slide with a big 1-0 win over the Senators as goalie prospect Thomas Milic made 32-saves for his fourth shutout of the season. With the victory they were able to gain some important ground on the 3rd place Stars and increase the distance between themselves and 5th place. They are off today.

Note III: Jets prospects Kevin He (2024 4th) got things started for Flint in game 2 of their series scoring the first couple goals of the game. First was shorthanded and second was reviewed before it was called a good goal. Turned out to the GWG.

Jets news:

Winnipeg Free Press: Jets inch closer to playoff spot with win in Denver. (Paywall). Hard to believe but it’s true.

The Denver Post: Jets knock off Avalanche with controversial late goal, stop Colorado’s winning streak at four games. (Paywall). It’s anyone’s guess as to what constitutes goalie interference at this point.

The Athletic Winnipeg: How Elias Salomonsson went from top prospect to unexpected top four Jets defenceman. (Paywall). If you were listening to us you knew what the Jets had in the second rounder out of Skelleftea, Sweden. Murat provides his high level of insight.
