Note: While folks were expecting RFA announcements on Monday the team did announce a signing as they got 2019 1st round pick Ville Heinola signed to a three-year, entry-level contract.
Note II: It wasn’t official last evening but the folks over at CapFriendly announced that Nelson Nogier had been signed by the Jets to a one-year, two-way deal which the Jets confirmed this morning.
Winnipeg Sun: Jets sign first-round draft pick Heinola to entry-level contract. Ted wrote about yesterday’s signing of the Jets 2019 1st round pick.
NBC Sports: NHL GM hot seat tiers. Kevin Cheveldayoff in the still safe category but as the writer notes the 2019-20 season will be a big one for the Jets GM.
Yahoo Sports: Is Winnipeg mostly done for the summer? If you look at the first note above it is clear there is still plenty of work to get done in the ‘Peg. But obviously he is referencing Winnipeg keeping up with the Central Division arms race.
I also appear on the Illegal Curve Hockey Show every Saturday on TSN 1290 Winnipeg starting at 9 am.
And I occasionally jump in the play-by-play booth at Bell MTS Place to provide colour analysis during Manitoba Moose games.
