Winnipeg Jets Practice Report

The Jets practice in Montreal ahead of the final game of their four-game road trip on Tuesday.

The Jets are in one right now, and not the good kind of “in one,” as they find themselves mired in a nine-game losing streak punctuated by yesterday’s 7-0 drubbing at the hands of the defending Stanley Cup champion Hurricanes. There are plenty of questions swirling around this team given the current state of the franchise.

From an on-ice perspective, we’ll have to wait and see whether any reinforcements are recalled from the Moose. Cole Koepke is considered day-to-day after getting banged up against the Panthers on Friday, while Mario Ferraro blocked a shot in the first period of Sunday’s game in Carolina, potentially adding another name to the injury list. Although he did return to the game in the second period and played the rest of it. Dylan DeMelo also blocked a shot with his hand but didn’t miss any of the game. Of course the big question will be the status of Josh Morrissey and if he’s ready to join the mix or if the next stage will be a non-contact uniform (more likely).

Skate news:

As per Mike McIntyre of the Winnipeg Free Press no Dawson Mercer today at practice. Josh Morrissey is there in a non-contact uniform. He’s got the forward lines as follows sans 19.

Lines & D Pairs:

Connor-Scheifele-Vilardi
Perfetti-Lowry-Iafallo
Niederreiter-Barron-Bjorck
