Winnipeg Jets head coach Scott Arniel provides injury update on Cole Koepke

He wasn’t in the lineup today in Carolina, and now we know why.

The Jets were in Carolina this afternoon, where they suffered their ninth straight loss as the Hurricanes handed them a decisive 6-0 defeat in Raleigh. It was the third game of Winnipeg’s four-game road trip.

Not on the ice was fourth-line forward Cole Koepke. It was initially assumed that his absence was a result of the Jets opting to dress 11 forwards and seven defencemen, but Mike McIntyre of the Winnipeg Free Press reported that he was told Koepke’s absence was injury-related.

After the game, Jets head coach Scott Arniel was asked for an update by Mike McIntyre of the Winnipeg Free Press on the Minnesota product’s status.

“Day-to-day. Lower-body. He got hurt obviously in the last game”.

Arniel also indicated that the team would be checking on defenceman Mario Ferraro, who left today’s game during the first period but returned for the second and was able to finish the contest. Dylan DeMelo also blocked a shot with his hand although he played rest of the game. However it’s worth noting as the Jets bench boss added that there were a few other players who needed to be evaluated, with the team expecting to know more tomorrow.
