This Jets team has now been outscored 37-16 during this nine game slide (0-7-2) including today’s 7-0 drubbing at the hands of the defending Stanley Cup champion Hurricanes. Hard not to see this as rock bottom.

Notable:
We thought Cole Koepke was a healthy scratch when he wasn’t in warm-up but as per Mike McIntyre of the Winnipeg Free Press he is dealing with something so it was injury related.
Coming into this game the Jets had allowed the first goal in 10 of last 12 games and that didn’t change in this one as they gave up a shorthanded goal to make it 11 of their last 13 games.
With six minutes left in the period the Jets were being outshot 10-1.
Winnipeg was lucky to only be down 1-0 after 20 minutes but that luck wouldn’t hold for the 2nd period.
They did have Mario Ferraro on the bench to start the 2nd after he left during the 1st period after he blocked a shot.
They gave up four goals before the midpoint of the middle frame to just add to their miserable run. They were down 5-0 to the Hurricanes and only had five shots on net at that point.
While it was all but over in the final frame, another penalty taken by Winnipeg and another power play goal scored against the Jets to make it 6-0.
And they weren’t done giving up goals as the Hurricanes added another to make it 7-0.
