The NHL Hometown Remix jerseys have been slowly making their way onto social media this season, and while reports dating back to May suggested the Winnipeg Jets would be going with an aurora-inspired theme, we hadn’t actually seen the finished product.
That changed today when the team officially unveiled the jersey on social media. In the media release they indicated:
“For the Winnipeg Jets, the Hometown Remix uniform draws inspiration from one of Manitoba’s most spectacular natural wonders: the Northern Lights. The design captures the colour and movement of the Aurora Borealis, bringing a distinctly Manitoban element to the team’s look.”
The Jets will wear the special jerseys eight times this season, with their first appearance scheduled for November 17th. The other dates include:
Nov. 21 vs. Vegas
Nov. 23 vs. Utah
Dec. 10 vs. Chicago
Jan. 19 vs. Minnesota
Jan. 21 vs. New York Rangers
March 23 vs. Seattle
March 25 vs. Colorado
Here’s your first look:
So, what do you think of the design? Are you a fan of the aurora-inspired look, or is this one a miss for you?
