Note: The Jets’ struggles continued in Raleigh as they were embarrassed 7-0 by the Hurricanes, suffering their ninth straight loss (0-7-2) and falling to 0-3-0 on their four-game road trip. Winnipeg was without forward Cole Koepke, who suffered a lower-body injury in the previous game and is considered day-to-day. The team will look to regroup when they hit the ice for practice today at 12 noon in Montreal ahead of their next game against the Canadiens. Be sure to check back for the Practice Report.
Note II: The Moose are back in Manitoba after wrapping up a six-game road trip with a 3-3-0-0 record, highlighted by a historic finale in Rockford that saw them score four shorthanded goals in a single game, something that hadn’t been accomplished in the AHL since 1988. With 16 points on the season, Manitoba is tied for second overall in the AHL, and there is plenty going right for this squad early on. The Moose will spend the week practicing in Winnipeg as they prepare to welcome the Toronto Marlies next weekend. Be sure to check back for our Practice Report.
Note III: Jets goalie prospect Samuel Hrenak (2026 3rd) continued his impressive start to the season, picking up back-to-back wins over the weekend for Fargo. He made several key stops in the final minute of his latest victory to extend his winning streak to nine games. The Force netminder is now 10-2-0 on the season with a 2.10 GAA and a .934 save percentage.

Jets news:
Winnipeg Free Press: Another embarrassing loss. (Paywall). The special teams continue to stink and the 5 on 5 isn’t much better but other than that all is well.

Winnipeg Sun: ‘Pretty embarrassing’: Jets steamrolled by Hurricanes in ninth straight loss. Just when you think this Jets team might surprise you…they don’t. Talk about flat. And the crazy part is they were only down by one after 20 which was a period they barely controlled the puck.
TheScore: Jets’ Arniel: Job security ‘not on my mind’ amid 9-game skid. Of course he’s gonna say that and given the fact it’s almost his second double digit losing streak in the last two seasons, something feels like it’s gonna give soon.
Raleigh News & Oberserver: Pyotr Kochetkov stays unbeaten, sets Hurricanes record in win over Winnipeg. Chip’s been covering the Hurricanes for a long time and he gives you his insight into what was happening inside the arena.
NHL.com: Kochetkov wins 10th straight to open season, Hurricanes shut out Jets. Amazing to think the Hurricanes wanted in on Connor Hellebuyck given how well they are playing.
