Winnipeg Jets Morning Papers

Your source for all the latest Jets and Moose news, video and audio.

Note: The Jets were back on the ice on Monday for a practice which saw the return of Kyle Connor and Nate Schmidt from covid protocol. It wasn’t all good health news for the NHL club though as Dave Lowry indicated that Cole Perfetti still isn’t skating and that Jansen Harkins was receiving further evaluation yesterday but that he won’t play tomorrow night against the Wings. Stay tuned for another Practice Report.

Note II: The Moose took Monday off after ending their homestand with three wins and one loss. Today they take off for Milwaukee where they are set to practice before they kick off the three game road trip against the Admirals.

Jets news:

Sportsnet: How Jets scorer Kyle Connor has had one of the most productive seasons in franchise history. Spoiler alert…it’s cause he is really good at hockey. Like really good. But seriously Wieber’s latest on the best season to date of the Michigan man.

Winnipeg Sun: For Jets, what can go wrong, willYa some of the situations have been beyond the Jets control (i.e. Connor getting covid) but some of the ones have been well within their grasp.

Winnipeg Free Press: Connor, Schmidt give Jets timely boost. (Paywall). But is it too little, too late?  That is the $100,000.00 question.

Winnipeg Free Press: Jets focused on tall task — Moose ready to run. (Paywall). Mike covers a number of topics in this column.

Global News: Jets’ Kyle Connor and Nate Schmidt return from unexpected ‘spring break’. Why can I easily see Nate Schmidt as a character in the movie Spring Breakers with James Franco after reading that headline.

Global News: Former Jet Ellett ‘honoured’ to support late teammate Hawerchuk’s charity. The ties that bind the Jets 1.0 live on.

Jets video:

Global News: New tribute at True North Square honouring Jets legend. It would have been Dale Hawerchuk’s 59th birthday on Monday.

Moose news:

Global News: Breakout season for entire Manitoba Moose blue line continues. Given the relative inexperience of this group what they’ve managed to do, without a high-powered offence at their disposal, is quite remarkable
