Winnipeg Whiteout Street Party makes adjustments ahead of game 5

Looks like the folks in charge have heard the complaints.

After a huge drop off in attendance for game 2 of the Western Conference final between the Jets and Golden Knights which saw the crowd drop to 11,000 the folks at Economic Development Winnipeg and True North have revamped the ticketing system.  While it will remain in place they have tried to adjust it to allow more people to claim tickets and thus increase attendance to what we saw previously.

They are issuing 37,500 tickets for Sunday’s game 5 (2 pm puck drop) but keeping capacity at 27,000. Of course a ticketing system that can be oversold is rendered somewhat moot and kinda kills the justification of needing a ticketing system in the first place one would think.

From True North:

The free tickets are available for download at and will be limited to four (4) per account. Subject to street party capacity of 27,000, tickets will also be available at the street party gates. For fans who don’t have online access to download tickets, True North has printed 5,000 tickets (a segment of the 37,500 tickets), which will be available at the Bell MTS Place Box Office (Portage and Donald). Box office tickets will be limited to four (4) per person.

Hopefully this will curtail people from snatching up all the tickets and not using them and see Winnipeggers being able to get a spot downtown if they’d like to attend.
