Word broke this morning from Blue Jackets beat writer Aaron Portzline that the Columbus born Jack Roslovic (Jets 2015 1st round 25th overall) had signed a three-year entry level deal with Winnipeg. He spent one year in the college ranks with Miami University (Ohio) scoring 10 goals and adding 16 assists in 36 games. This ends his NCAA career but as Portzline points out because Roslovic was drafted from USA Hockey’s National Team Development Program “Roslovic is eligible to play in NHL, AHL, or OHL this season”.
The player himself confirmed it on twitter/instagram.
Roslovic looked very good at Jets development camp a few weeks ago and there was quite a bit of buzz that he would be leaving college. His rights were traded from Flint to powerhouse and this season’s Memorial Cup champ London Knights in June for a seventh-round pick in 2017 and two conditional second rounders (Mississauga’s in 2017 and Kingston’s in ’18).
The Jets have now made it official. In their tweet they included that the AAV of the three-year deal will be $1,137,500.
