Note: It was an off day for the Jets on Saturday although there was some about the NHL club of Winnipeg as all four players they placed on waivers on Friday cleared. Today, they are scheduled to practice in Colorado Springs as well as doing their team building exercises. They will practice there for one more day before returning to Manitoba to get ready for the start of the NHL regular season on Tuesday.
Note II: While the expectation for anything Connor Hellebuyck related was expected to take some time, some interesting news out of Buffalo as Mike Harrington of the Buffalo News reported that head coach Lindy Ruff indicated that Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen had a tweak and was removed from a game for precautionary reasons while Alex Lyon is gonna miss a few days. While not catastrophic perhaps it’s enough to get the Sabres and Jets further down the road for a potential deal. Worth watching.
Note III: Reminder that their final NHL 23-man roster has to be submitted by Monday afternoon. They will have three players (Salomonsson, Duehr & Brown) start the year on IR which means they are currently at 26 healthy players. (2G, 9D & 15F). We will have to wait and see if they who gets sent down and whether they go 13 F/8D or 14F/7D to start the season.
Note IV: The Moose wrapped up their training camp exhibition schedule on Saturday in a re-match with the Wild which saw them win 4-1. They are off today and will have a production day on Monday.

Winnipeg Sun: Skinner set to carry the load in Jets’ net after Hellebuyck’s exit demand. There is going to be a lot of weight on those shoulders, especially if the Jets stay young with the backup position.
