Note: The Moose and Griffins battled last night in Grand Rapids as both teams looked to gain an edge in their second-round series. In the end, the home side built a 3-0 lead, and while the visitors fought back with goals from Mason Shaw (here) and Samuel Fagemo (here), they ultimately fell short. The Griffins added an empty-netter to seal a 4-2 victory and take a 2-1 series lead in the best-0f-five. Today, Manitoba will hold a practice as they prepare for an elimination Game 4 on Friday.
Note II: It was confirmed that Jets prospect Edison Engle (2025 6th) switched up his college commitment at some point this year and will be heading to Western Michigan rather than Ohio State.
Jets news:
Global News: Start debate on Winnipeg Jets’ pick at 8 in 2026 NHL entry draft. I suspect Winnipeg will end up using this pick rather than dangling it to another team. Mostly, because I cannot see a team that would be willing to part with a top end forward (not solely for the pick) but even in combination.

The Athletic Winnipeg: Eight players the Jets could take with the No. 8 pick in the 2026 NHL Draft. (Paywall). While I agree with Murat’s assessment of Carels, I’ve been told there is almost no chance he’s still around at eight when Winnipeg is set to make their selection. Ultimately, I’m very curious if the organization goes with a forward or a defenceman.
Moose news:
Winnipeg Sun: ‘Why not go five?’ Facing elimination, Moose keep stiff upper lip. The belief remains strong in that room as Manitoba has survived a pair of elimination games in Round 1 and will look to keep that going in Round 2. Paul gives you his report on last night’s game.
Winnipeg Free Press: Moose facing third elimination game of post-season after loss in Grand Rapids. (Paywall). It’s becoming old hat to these guys. Kenny gives you his assessment of things.
