Notable:
The Griffins opened the scoring in the hockey game as they find the back of the net on a delayed penalty against the Moose.
Grand Rapids was that close to adding another goal to their total but luckily for Manitoba they put it wide of the open net.
Moose get some pressure but the Griffins do such a good job of clogging up the middle of the ice to kill these chances for Jets prospects Brayden Yager and Brad Lambert.
The dial up internet coming out of Grand Rapids made this one hard to see but a tough bounce gave the Griffins a 2-0 lead in the middle frame.
The Moose power play started to generate some chances but Griffins goalie Michal Postava continued making all the stops.
In a game of this magnitude mistakes can be deadly as this turnover allowed the home team to build their lead to 3-0.
The visitors finally got on the board as the captain, Mason Shaw tipped the Anhorn shot late in the 2nd.
In the 3rd the Moose had an absolutely glorious chance to get within one but even when Griffins netminder Michal Postava has a moment his teammates are there to block for him.
With the teams down to 4 on 4, it then became a 5 on 4 as the Moose pulled Domenic DiVincentiis for the extra attacker with 3:15 left in the 3rd down by a pair of goals. The strategy worked as Samuel Fagemo ripped a shot home to make it a one goal hockey game.
With under a minute remaining the Moose had possession but the Griffins ability and willingness to block shots came up big. They stopped the Lambert shot and put it into the empty net to take a 4-2 lead.
Despite a late push by the Moose, they couldn’t overcome the 3-0 lead that the Griffins took in Game 3 and lost 4-2. Grand Rapids takes a 2-1 series lead over Manitoba which makes Friday an elimination game.
