Note: The Moose and Griffins kicked off the second round with an epic Game 1 on Saturday afternoon in downtown Winnipeg. The game was without a goal for the first 37 minutes and 34 seconds before Manitoba captain Mason Shaw scored a power play goal. Jets goalie prospect Domenic DiVincentiis was simply lights out being named 1st Star after making 39 saves for his first career playoff shutout and third straight victory. It was also an impressive pro debut for Jets prospect Garrett Brown whose play caught his coach’s attention for the right reasons. With the win the Moose took a 1-0 series lead over the juggernaut Griffins.
Note II: While a 1-0 series is nice the Moose would like to earn a second one before they head to Michigan and they’ll get that chance for the home sweep when the two clubs do battle this afternoon in downtown Winnipeg. Game 2 gets underway at 2 PM CT and while there is no morning skate be sure to check for the pre-game report. We will also have complete coverage so check back for the post-game recap.

The Winnipeg crowd showed the love for Jets goalie prospect Domenic DiVincentiis, who was named 1st Star of Game 1 as his club took a 1–0 lead in their 2nd round series. He has won 3 straight, allowing just 2 goals on 91 shots (.978 save%, 0.67 GAA).
