Note: The Jets are done. The Moose are done. We will still try to get you anything relevant to the pro hockey clubs of Manitoba during the next little bit. Of course the big focus is on the 2026 NHL Draft for which the Jets hold the 8th overall selection. We will be spending quite a bit of time learning about the players who could hear their name get called by Winnipeg at the end of June.
Note II: All five Jets players at the World Championships will be in action today in the quarter-finals. Mark Scheifele, Gabriel Vilardi and Dylan DeMelo (Canada) take on the USA which starts at 9 AM on TSN while Ville Heinola (Finland) will be up against Czechia also at that time. Nino Niederreiter (Switzerland) faces off against Sweden which starts at 1 PM CT on TSN.
Note III: This guy is just one win away from the Stanley Cup Final. Plenty of folks in Winnipeg will be happy to see that happen for Nikolaj Ehlers, who had two assists in a 4-0 Game 4 win for Carolina (along with those cheering for Seth Jarvis).
Jets news:
Global News: Winnipeg Jets don’t require change between the pipes. No question that one area we aren’t expecting to talk about this season is in goal. Probably a pretty good chance that the same tandem will be back next season.

The Athletic Winnipeg: Which Jets prospects are NHL-ready? Winnipeg’s projected U23 roles for 2026-27. (Paywall). Murat goes over the prospect list and gives you the best and worst case scenarios for each player. This was a late addition yesterday so I am positing it again today.

Illegal Curve Hockey Show: Craig Button talks 2026 NHL Draft and some options for the Jets at 8th overall. TSN’s Director of Scouting Craig Button shared his insight on the IC Hockey Show, ahead of next month’s Draft with some thoughts on players Winnipeg could draft with the eighth overall pick. He also shared thoughts about whether they might trade it to fill an immediate need on this hockey club. Plenty of good insight from the affable analyst.
