Winnipeg Jets Morning Papers

Keeping you up-to-date with all the latest pro hockey news in Manitoba.

Note: The Jets continue to roll along picking up their seventh straight win in their 3-0 defeat of the Hurricanes. That’s the third time this season they’ve gotten at least seven wins in a row, which according to Team PR, makes them just the fifth team to do that in the last 20 years. It was also the first shutout of the season for Eric Comrie. They are off today and will return to the ice on Thursday for practice as they look to close out the pre 4 Nations portion of the schedule on Friday against the Islanders.

Note II: The Moose remain on their AHL All-Star break until Friday when they hit the ice for a practice to prepare for a pair of games this weekend.

Note III: Some health news we learned on Tuesday is that Adam Lowry and Morgan Barron both remain off the ice as per head coach Scott Arniel and neither player seems likely to be back anytime soon.

Jets news:

Winnipeg Sun: Eric Comrie perfect as Jets make it seven in a row against Hurricanes. When Jets bench boss Scott Arniel was coy about who his starter was yesterday after AM skate one of the comments on our YouTube channel said “Well, if Comrie starts, that’ll be the end of the winning streak”. Turns out he did start, picked up his third career shutout in the process and helped Winnipeg to their seven straight win. Paul gives you his game recap from what he saw inside CLC.

Sportsnet: Jets grateful for help from ‘the Connor McDavid of video coaches’. We keep joking whenever he’s successful in a challenge that the team owes him a steak dinner. He may become vegetarian after all the beef they would owe him from this season alone. Two more successful ones last night.

Sportsnet: Why the Jets need to go all-in, and what that could look like. A really interesting read from Jason on what he thinks the Jets should do and why this is the season to go for it.

Jets video:
