Winnipeg Jets head coach Scott Arniel provides latest update on Adam Lowry & Morgan Barron

Latest on the two injured Jets.

“None of them have started to skate yet”

That was the response that Jets head coach Scott Arniel said when asked this morning following morning skate about the status of captain Adam Lowry and winger Morgan Barron as his club gets ready to face the Hurricanes. He continued:

“Might see them on the ice just prior to us getting back, prior to us coming back, but as of right now nobody’s been on the ice no.”

Lowry has been out since the game against Utah back on January 20th while Barron was hurt in Montreal on January 28th. Both were originally listed as week to week.

Of course the two week break for these two appears fortunate as it means they won’t miss 5-6 with the team off for the 4 Nations tournament.

“You don’t ever want to see it happen but this break will certainly help them. Help us not having them miss so many games. Yeah the timing is right.”

When asked if he’d change their designation from week to week with the hope they’ll be available when they get back (first game after the tournament is February 22nd in St. Louis against the Blues).

“Bear’s a little farther behind Low. They haven’t started to skate so I don’t have an idea on that yet. So that will start with conditioning. Comfort, conditioning and then go from there.”

It seems like this duo might not be available until March but we will have to see how they heal up over the next few weeks.
