Notable:
Hurricanes thought they scored on the power play in the 1st but Jets challenged for goalie interference which was upheld. Don’t bet against video coach Matty Prefonatine.
In the battle of the top PP vs top PK, round 1 went to the power play as Nino Niederreiter gave the Jets a 1-0 lead with his 14th of the season. Great assist for Alex Iafallo.
Memo to other NHL teams (including the one with the best PK): Don’t take penalties against Winnipeg. Neal Pionk with a blast to make it 2-0. Cole Perfetti, since he assumed his alter ego of ‘The Prick’, has 4G 4A in last six games.
With 3:41 left in the 3rd the Jets thought they scored but it was overturned. Jets challenged and they got it overturned for a 3-0 lead. Rasmus Kupari‘s 5th goal of the season.
Heck of a good game from Nino Niederreiter who was the most noticeable Jet on the ice.
Eric Comrie was also excellent in this hockey game picking up his first shutout of the season and third of his career.
Multipoint Game:
Nino Niederreiter 1G 1A
