Winnipeg Jets Morning Papers

Keeping you up-to-date with all the latest pro hockey news in Manitoba.

Note: What a hockey game between two very good teams last night in Washington, D.C. as the Jets left the area with a 5-4 OT win courtesy of a Josh Morrissey game-winning goal in extra time which means this team remained in top spot with their sixth straight victory. When captain Adam Lowry went down with injury there was plenty of concern as to how this team would proceed but the depth continues to shine through. They are off today.

Note II: The Moose concluded their three-game road trip last night in Chicago where they were unable to build on a win the night prior in Milwaukee. Instead they lost 6-0 to the Wolves which was their fifth loss in the last six games. Before the game we learned that Jets prospect Chaz Lucius wouldn’t play as he was listed as day-to-day with an unknown injury. Appears most exciting part was this full line brawl which included Wolves goalie Spencer Martin. The old Manitoba and Chicago rivalry was alive and well (maybe not so much on the scoreboard). Via the game notes we learned “The 165 penalty minutes recorded by the teams is the most in the AHL this season. The previous high was 74.”. The AHL All-Star break is the next few days.
