Note: The Jets practiced on Monday in Toronto as they got ready for their first game of this three-game series against the Leafs. We learned that the plan is to use the same lineup as they had in the last game against Montreal. As the best plans of mice and men can change be sure to stay tuned for the pre-game report to get the 411 on the lineup as well as today’s media availability. Puck drop is at 6 PM CST.
Note II: The Moose played their first ever home game at the IcePlex last night as they welcomed the Stockton Heat to town for the first time since April of 2019. It was a wild game that ended 6-5 in OT and was one of the more unique games I’ve ever covered. They are scheduled to practice today as they get set for a re-match with the Heat on Wednesday.
Note III: Jets 2016 3rd rounder Luke Green, who had been reassigned 12 days ago from the Moose to Sport Vaasa in Liiiga, has terminated his contract with the Finnish club for personal reasons.
Jets news:
Sportsnet: ‘Measuring-stick series’ or not, time to see how Jets stack up vs. Leafs. The team wouldn’t give in to the suggestion on Monday of labelling this series but as Ken writes regardless of how you title it, it is going to be a big test to see how the two clubs stack up.
Winnipeg Sun: Leafs series a stress-test for construction of Jets. The Jets may not want to use “litmus test” or “measuring stick games” but it is quite obvious that the next three games for Winnipeg are gonna be significant. Can they thrust themselves into the conversation for top spot in the north or will they be relegated to battling for spots 2-4.
Toronto Sun: Jets’ Dubois could be standing in the Maple Leafs’ way of reaching the conference final. Pierre-Luc Dubois sure seems to be living rent free in the minds of some folks in Toronto courtesy of his playoff success.

Global News: Jets reset for much-anticipated 3-game series in Toronto. One thing about this Jets team is they don’t get too high after a win and similarly don’t seem to get too low after a loss. We shall see if they can continue with their ability to avoid a losing streak this season.
Global News: Paul Stastny shining in second stint with Winnipeg Jets. Talk about fitting like a glove. The veteran centre turned winger has made a seamless transition to his new/old team and it is pretty clear the impact he is having not just in games but educating younger players on this team.
Toronto Star: The Leafs and Jets cool but stay put in our North Division Power Rankings. It is setting itself up to be quite the week for hockey in Toronto.

TSN: Stastny on challenge Leafs present: ‘They got a lot of creativity on that team’. The Jets will look to rebound from a lopsided defeat to the Canadiens when they visit the Maple Leafs Tuesday. Paul Stastny spoke about being excited for the challenge and is aware that playing a ‘run-and-gun’ style against Toronto is a dangerous game to play with the talent they possess.
