Note II:  Sad news in the hockey world as Eric Hawerchuk, the son of Jets legend Dale Hawerchuk, announced that his father had passed away today.  There was plenty of reaction from the hockey world on the passing of the Hall of Famer and icon in Winnipeg.

Jets news:

The Athletic Winnipeg:  Bryan Little’s future and Jets’ salary cap tied together with uncertainty.  (Paywall).  Murat with a good look at some of the possibilities which exist when it comes to what things could look like with and without the Jets second line centre in the lineup.

Sportsnet: One big off-season question facing each NHL team eliminated in qualifying. Maybe the Jets just need to change their mascot to Gritty if folks think this team needs to add some grit.

Illegal Curve:  A look at the UFAs and RFAs for the Winnipeg Jets and Manitoba Moose this fall.  It is a laundry list for Jets GM Kevin Cheveldayoff, one he is usually working on in the spring, but will instead begin to tackle it in the summer as he gets ready for the fall offseason.

Illegal Curve:   JC Lipon signs with Dinamo Riga.  A popular player with fans and his teammates is heading overseas.  I actually expected Lipon to be part of the leadership conversation had he signed again with the Winnipeg organization.  Instead he is off to the KHL.
