Winnipeg Jets Morning Papers

Your source for all the latest Jets and Moose news, video and audio.

Note:  Prior to puck drop in Buffalo on Sunday Jets bench boss Paul Maurice provided a bit of clarity on an Adam Lowry injury timeline.  With respect to the game itself the Jets gave up the opening goal of the game for the eighth straight game and didn’t record a shot on net in the final nine minutes of a game they trailed by one which ultimately meant the contest ended with the Sabres winning 2-1.  Coach Maurice provided this update on Josh Morrissey who didn’t play due to an upper-body injury.  The team is off today.

Note II:  The Moose returned home on Sunday following their three-game road trip in Canada which saw them go 1-1-1-0.  When they lost in OT on Saturday it was the first time in 57 games that they had lost a game in extra time.  They were the last team in the AHL with that accomplishment.  Today they are off before they get back on the ice on Tuesday to practice for their weekend series with the Chicago Wolves.  This will be the ninth and tenth games against their division rival with still two more to go.

Note III:  Today is trade deadline day, ending at 3 PM EST.  So far all we’ve learned is the Jets continue to search for a dance partner on Dustin Byfuglien who GM Kevin Cheveldayoff confirmed will not play this season.  In the end the Jets stood pat and didn’t make any moves aside from a paper transaction to reassign Logan Shaw to the Moose so he would be eligible to play in the AHL this season.
