Winnipeg Jets Morning Papers

Your source for all the latest Jets and Moose news, video and audio.

Note:  It was a newsy Saturday for the Jets as bench boss Paul Maurice advised that the team was shutting Bryan Little down for the season and also that Adam Lowry & Mathieu Perreault remain week-to-week.  You can likely expect Andrei Chibisov to be recalled back up by the Jets this morning and perhaps after dressing the last two games for warm up he will be making his NHL debut tonight against the Hawks.  Morning skate gets underway at 10:30 AM so be sure to check back to find out the latest news and audio from Bell MTS Place in our pre-game report.  Puck drop is at 7:30 PM.

Note II:  The Moose may have skated into last night’s contest 31 points back to the Admirals but Eric Comrie’s 35-save shutout and Brent Pedersen’s tally were enough to give Manitoba a critically important two points.  Today they are scheduled to practice at 12 noon before tomorrow’s matinee re-match with Milwaukee which will conclude this six-game homestand.

Winnipeg Sun: Little shut down for the remainder of seasonA tough way for the 2019-20 season to conclude for the veteran centre.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Kane suspended 3 games for Pionk hit.  (Paywall).  While Jets fans were happy Kane himself was less than pleased and took to twitter to voice that frustration.  While his hit on Pionk absolutely deserved a suspension, he is absolutely correct about the inconsistency of the DOPS.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Slapshot head injury shuts Jets centre out for the season.  (Paywall).  After playing back-to-back 82 game seasons it has to be beyond frustrating to have just played seven games this season.
