Note:  The Jets practiced on Monday (although any news was overshadowed by what you’ll read about in note II) as they prepared for a huge game against the Nashville Predators tonight to close out this three-game homestand. Morning skate gets underway at 10:30 AM so be sure to check back for our pre-game report for the latest news and audio.  Puck drop is at 7 pm.

Note II: Frank Seravalli of TSN is reporting that the Jets and Dustin Byfuglien‘s representation are working towards a mutual termination of the contract and he spoke about his report on TSN 1290 which you can listen to here.

Note III:  The Moose also have a number of skating wounded although one of them, Joona Luoto, won’t be back this season as Pascal Vincent indicated he was done for the year after the Finnish winger had surgery on an upper-body injury.  Manitoba will have another day of practice today as they get ready for six straight home games starting with the Wolves on Thursday.  They will be doing it without Jimmy Oligny who was suspended for two games due to a kneeing incident in Rockford last weekend.

TSN:  How will Jets manage cap if and when the team parts ways with Byfuglien?  It appears as if the Jets and Dustin Byfuglien are nearing closer to a mutual contract termination according to several reports. That’s Hockey discusses whether or not the team should be aggressive right away in making a move with the expected growth in cap room or wait until the deadline gets closer.
