Note: It was a busy day in Jetsland on Wednesday as the team didn’t hit the ice for practice but did hold a media availability where we learned that Andrew Copp will be sidelined week-to-week with an upper-body injury. In his place the Jets announced that they had recalled Mason Appleton and Jansen Harkins from their AHL squad. Might we see an NHL debut this evening when the Hawks come to town for Harkins? Stay tuned to find out. The Blackhawks played and lost to the Avs last night in Chicago. The Jets pre-game report will have all the latest news and audio from Bell MTS Place when morning skate gets underway at 10:30 AM. Puck drop is at 7 PM.
Note II: The Red Wings placed Eric Comrie on waivers yesterday and there is some question as to whether he may be re-claimed by the Jets to augment their organizational depth in net. And for those folks who think this is simply about the NHL you may want to read Note III for why it would help to have two solid netminders at the AHL level. Update: Jets claimed Comrie off waivers.
Note III: The Moose (sans Appleton and Harkins) ended the road trip “in style” as the Eagles beat them down 10-4 over and out in Colorado last night. Manitoba went just 1-4-0-0 on the five-game trip down south. They travel home today and will be back in action on Friday for practice ahead of their game at home on Saturday night.
