Note: The Jets and Hurricanes were locked in a pretty tight game until a missed trip against Adam Lowry provided Andrei Svechnikov with the time and space he needed to score a lacrosse style goal (his second of this road trip) to give the visitors a 3-2 and they wouldn’t look back taking it 6-3. That was the first loss at Bell MTS Place for the Jets in December. They didn’t just lose the game however as Andrew Copp didn’t finish the game leaving in the 2nd and coach Maurice didn’t have an update following the game. The team is scheduled to practice today at 12 noon as they get ready to face the Hawks to end the home stand tomorrow night. We will have to wait to see who they recall from the Moose who are in Colorado. Be sure to stay tuned for the Practice Report for the latest news and audio.
Note II: About an hour before puck drop last night Mike McIntyre and Jason Bell of the Winnipeg Free Press had an interesting report on Dustin Byfuglien. Read it here.
Note III: The Moose also dropped their game last night in Colorado as they took on the Eagles. They found themselves down 1-0 after 20 but they took leads of 2-1 and 3-2 in the 2nd but two goals by the home side in the final five of the middle frame saw them down 4-3 after 40 minutes. They couldn’t comeback in the game and ultimately dropped it 5-3 to fall to 14-16-0-0 on the season. The five-game road trip ends tonight with a re-match in Colorado.
