Jets news:
The Athletic Winnipeg: How joining the Jets helped Nathan Beaulieu put his disappointment behind. (Paywall). Ken has a chance to catch up with the defenceman and to get his thoughts on his turnaround here in Winnipeg.
Winnipeg Sun: Jets Gameday. Scott’s big matchup is Scheifele line vs. Predators defensive corps. His five keys to the game include: 1) Rub salt in the wound. 2) Keep it low. 3) Road warrior. 4) Keep it low. 5) Confident Kyle.
Winnipeg Sun: Wheeler’s new line just fine. Looks like a solid trio that has started to find their groove.
Winnipeg Free Press: Jets’ Laine becoming a more complete player this season. (Paywall). He has clearly rounded out his game and while he isn’t scoring at the same clip we’ve become accustomed to that is something that will likely bounce back in the near future. And with the new elements he’s added to his game he will be a much more complete player for the Jets.
Winnipeg Free Press: Playing Winnipeg ‘a great test’ for struggling Predators. (Paywall). Nashville has hit a bit of a slide but they aren’t really that far off and considering the parity in the league a few wins will have them right back in the mix.
TSN: Beaulieu helps settle Jets’ blueline turbulence. There has been quite a bit of need for stabilization but it has been clear when you hear him speak how frustrating it was being out to start the year and it is clear he is getting more comfortable now that he has some games under his belt.
Moose news:
Winnipeg Free Press: Moose back in the groove with six-game unbeaten run. (Paywall). Coincides with the play of Mikhail Berdin.
Winnipeg Free Press: Red-hot Harkins in perfect spot. (Paywall). He seemed to start to hit another level in the second half of last season and hasn’t stopped his progress.
