Note: The Jets are reeling a bit after they suffered their third straight loss last night when the Islanders handed them a 3-1 defeat at Bell MTS Place. The team is off today and will return to practice on Saturday at 11 AM in downtown Winnipeg as they get set to host Connor McDavid and the Oilers on Sunday night.
Note II: While the Jets may be off their AHL club is not as the Moose are ready to get loose for a weekend of activity starting with tonight’s game against the Iowa Wild. They’ll have a morning skate at 10 AM followed by puck drop at 7 PM. Sami Niku isn’t expected to play this weekend as he hasn’t practiced with Manitoba this week as he continues to deal with a lower-body issue. The Jets did reassign Nelson Nogier this morning and because it is within 30 days of his last clearing waivers it is not necessary for him to clear again and he is eligible to play tonight.

Winnipeg Free Press: Jets drops third straight game at Bell MTS Place. (Paywall). The Jets had won four of six when giving up the first goal of the game so perhaps that is the key to success. Better than scoring first and losing all three games. Mike recaps the action.

Sportsnet: How Bryan Little’s absence has hurt Adam Lowry and the Jets’ team defence. No doubt that this club is not nearly as defensively sound as they once were given the changes to the roster.
Jets video:
