Note: The Jets were off on Friday but that didn’t stop them from making plenty of news as they started the day by assigning five players to the Moose and then blew things up with the announcement that they had signed Patrik Laine to a two-year deal.  While Laine isn’t expected back in Winnipeg just yet his teammates will return to the ice for another day of training camp with a practice scheduled for 12:30 pm so be sure to check out our Training Camp Report.  Be sure to check back for the latest news and audio from training camp.

Note II:  Late night news that the Jets have agreed to terms with Kyle Connor on a new seven year deal.

Note III:  The Moose dropped their opening game of the pre-season last night when they dropped a 2-1 decision to the Wild in Grand Forks.  No word if the five guys who were assigned to them will play tonight in the re-match which again goes at Ralph Englestad Arena at 7 pm.

Note IV:  We will have plenty to discuss on the Illegal Curve Hockey Show which kicks off on TSN 1290 Winnipeg at 9 am with three hours of Winnipeg Jets and NHL hockey talk.  Guests for our season preview show will be Eric Duhatschek (The Athletic) and Kevin Allen (USA Today) as well as Jason Bell (Winnipeg Free Press) to talk Jets.
