Jets news:
Winnipeg Free Press: How about playoff Jets? Will the real Winnipeg Jets please stand up? Which of the 4 options are we likely to see over the remaining 16 regular season games?
Winnipeg Free Press: Players on good stats run in surge. The Jets still do not have a scorer in the top 30 (Blake Wheeler is 37th with 53 points) but lately a number of players have gotten hot and added to their totals.
Winnipeg Sun: Six gunning for 2 playoff spots. Doesn’t seem like anyone wants to seize the opportunity. Should be quite the final 16-20 games for most of these teams.
Winnipeg Sun: Five-goal third a big step for Jets. After the Panthers took the action to the Jets in the second, the expectation was the third period would be a tight affair. Given the way the Jets have played in the final period of play, Thursday’s effort was a welcome change.
The Globe and Mail: Jets continue to both flatter and deceive. It certainly won’t be easy for the Jets down the stretch and both optimists and pessimists will have plenty of fodder over the next few weeks.
Barrie Examiner: Russian ‘roadrunner’ – Telegin blazing an impressive path with Colts. The Jets have to like his combination of speed and skill. In-depth look at the fourth-round pick in the 2010 entry draft. Perhaps we will be seeing more pictures of him next season wearing this jersey.
Affiliate news – St. John’s IceCaps:
AHL: Caps add Trotter, Sawada. They have slipped to 2nd in the East, 6 points back of the Norfolk Admirals and so the Caps braintrust made some moves.
Next opponent news – Buffalo Sabres:
Buffalo News: Miller credits Sabres teammates for shutout string. Winners of 5 of the last 6 (with the one loss being an OT loss to the Rangers) they have a game against the league leading Canucks tonight.
Buffalo News: Hodgson line takes wing for Sabres. The former Canuck gets a chance for some revenge against his former club.
