Jets news:

Globe and Mail:  Jets lose Bogosian for start of crucial road swingNot the player the Jets could afford to lose but it is an opportunity for guys like Flood and Clitsome to show their value to this team during this critical stretch.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Jets put defensive faith in Glass, Slater, Thorburn line.    Just like the always reliable Rock (in Rock, Paper, Scissors), the GST line has proven trustworthy and that they can match-up quite well against the opposing teams star players.  The fact that they occasionally pop in some goals has coach Noel singing their praises and 15,004 fans chanting “GST, GST, GST” every game.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Season-ticket hopefuls invited to practiceIt is important to engage these fans and to keep their interest level high so when it comes time to throw down $100 annually to hold their seats, they will be willing to do so.

Winnipeg Sun:  Pavelec keeps his poise between the pipesThe Jets netminder has been pretty unflappable and remains pretty somber win or lose.  One of his best traits, from a selfish point of view, is his willingness to chat with the media whether he won or lost and answer any questions directed his way.

Winnipeg Sun:  Bogosian aggravates injuryThe Jets cannot afford to be without his services for a prolonged period of time so hopefully this was a slight tweaking and not a re-aggravation.  We will have more from the MTS Centre today.

The Hockey News:  Pavelec likes to be in the middle of the action.   He will surpass his previous NHL games played in a season total (58 games in 2010/11) in the next couple of weeksHe is an unselfish team first type player and that is noticed by his teammates and fans alike.  The biggest cheers for the starting lineup at the MTS Centre are always reserved for number 31.

Affiliate news – St. John’s IceCaps:

The Telegram:  Breaking down the IceCaps’ recent loans/tradesAn in-depth analysis of the moves made by the Jets farm team.

Next opponent news – Buffalo Sabres:

Buffalo News:  Sabres pounce early, hold off CanucksAfter knocking off the top team in the Western Conference, the surging Sabres bring their ‘A’ game to Winnipeg.  They are just 2 points back of the 8th place Jets making Monday another “biggest game of the season” for both teams.
