Winnipeg Jets Afternoon News (Mon, Sept 26th)

Clock ticking as players fight to make Jets, Elliote Friedman’s 30 Thoughts, Kraft Hockeyville game in St. John’s between Jets and Sens is a big deal, Win a pair of Jets tickets in a charity auction and Buffalo/Winnipeg are twin cities and more.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Clock ticking as players fight to make Jets.  Expect this team to look vastly different in the next day or so.
Jets Practice Day 8

CBC:  Elliote Friedman’s 30 Thoughts.  Thoughts 19, 20 and 21 are Jets related.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Hockey fever sweeps Newfoundland.  Seems like they may as well have made it a Provincial holiday with all the people attending today’s festivities.

Ottawa Citizen:  Kraft Hockeyville game in St. John’s between Jets and Sens is a big deal.  You can expect a lot of people to be tuning into Sports Radio 1290 from work today to catch all the action while at the office.

CBC:  Jets, Senators connect the dots on The Rock.  Always nice to hear former Jets star and current Sens coach Paul MacLean talking fondly of his time in Winnipeg.

The Star:  Twin cities.   Smug isn’t a word we in Winnipeg use (it’s hard to be smug with -20 degree winters) and while we may be a bit self-depreciating (see my earlier comment), perhaps it is time for folks in Winnipeg and Buffalo to stop thinking we are about to wake up from a dream.

Chris D:  Win a pair of Jets tickets in a charity auction.  If you want to go to the Home Opener against the Habs and want to support a good cause, here is your chance.
