For the first time this season the Jets have lost four straight (0-3-1), outscored 12-3 during this stretch with the Pens taking the first game of the post All-Star break by a final score of 3-0. Winnipeg fall to 30-13-5 on the season. Third time they’ve been shut out in the last seven games.

The day began with Mark Scheifele coming off IR and Axel Jonsson-Fjällby being placed on waivers.
First time Jets faced former prospect Jansen Harkins who was claimed by Pittsburgh on waivers earlier this season. He played 154 games in a Winnipeg uniform as well as 200 in a Manitoba jersey.
Pens began the game on the right skate unlike the Jets which allowed Pittsburgh to open the scoring off a bad Winnipeg turnover and to hold a 7-1 shot edge roughly 10 minutes into the period.
The visitors generated some good momentum during the second half of the opening the home and you wondered if they could continue that into the middle frame. But it was the home team taking advantage of a five-minute match penalty to Brenden Dillon which blew open the game. Two goals by the Pens during their power play made it a 3-0 lead which is how the 2nd period concluded.
The visitors thought they got one back in the final frame but no dice as Mark Scheifele‘s goal was called back with Gabriel Vilardi ruled offside.
