Note II: We want you to be part of the conversation on the Illegal Curve Post-Game Show once the final buzzer sounds.

Note III: We expected the Jets to activate Mark Scheifele and the only real question was who would they place on waivers? Now we’ve got the answer as the team announced they had placed Axel Jonsson-Fjällby on waivers.

Jets news:

Winnipeg Sun: Jets’ Cheveldayoff has given fans, players something to believe in. It is rather a stark contrast between the ‘what the hell is happening in Winnipeg’ summer to “Winnipeg is a challenge for the Cup” past the midpoint of the season. This next stretch with a healthy lineup will go a long way to assuaging folks this year won’t be a repeat of what happened last season.

Pittsburgh Tribune: Penguins scheduled to start goaltender Tristan Jarry against Jets. Get insight into the Jets opponent this evening.

The Athletic: Which NHL first lines have been the best and worst in the 2023-24 season? (Paywall). Considering the Jets top line has played two and 1/3 of a game together hard to assess them. So they don’t but they do give Mark Scheifele high marks for what he is doing this season with a variety of linemates.

Illegal Curve: Jets vs Penguins pre-game report. Check out the projected lines and D pairs and get all the latest game info.

Jets video:

Daily Faceoff: How Sean Monahan in the bumper can vastly improve the Winnipeg Jets power play. An interesting discussion with former QMJHL coach Jon Goyens who is currently with TSN 690 in Montreal about the impact Sean Monahan had on the Habs power play when he was put into the bumper position and how he can have a positive impact for the Jets when similarly positioned with their currently 24th overall ranked power play.

The Raw Knuckles Podcast: Interview with Sean Monahan before the trade to the Winnipeg Jets. Former NHLers Chris Nilan and Tim Stapleton (former Jet) had a chance to have this chat with Sean Monahan before he was dealt to Winnipeg. Good insight into the player that the Jets got in the trade with the Habs.
