Notable:

The Jets were heavily outshot in the opening period of play (15-6) but they held a 3-1 edge courtesy of two goals from Pierre-Luc Dubois and one from Nikolaj Ehlers.

The team announced that Pierre-Luc Dubois wouldn’t return to the game after the 1st intermission.

The theme of being outshot continued in the middle frame as Calgary held a 7-0 edge approaching the midpoint of the period. Dylan DeMelo got the first shot and then seconds later Kyle Connor snipped a beauty on just their second shot of the 2nd.

Short handed specialist Mark Scheifele finished off the scoring for Winnipeg late in the 2nd as he put home a beauty pass from Kyle Connor on the penalty kill.

Rookie Cole Perfetti was hit in the numbers for the second straight game and while he was slow to get up the good news for the team is he appeared to be fine and played the rest of the game.

Sure it’s pre-season but the Jets power play has been firing in these exhibition games. Assistant coach Brad Lauer’s impact being felt early in his tenure with Winnipeg.

Kyle Connor finished with 4G 4A in three exhibition games.

Multi points game:

Kyle Connor 1G 2A
Pierre-Luc Dubois 2G
Mark Scheifele 1G 1A
Dylan DeMelo 2A
Josh Morrissey 2A
