We saw Tobias Enstorm take an awkward fall beside the Jets net when he got caught up with a New Jersey forward in the middle frame of yesterday’s afternoon contest against the Devils. It looked significant as he was in clear discomfort on the ice and didn’t move for awhile after it occurred.
It appeared that he would miss some significant time but somewhat miraculously he was back on the ice to finish the 2nd period. The Jets PR account announced that he wouldn’t return for the 3rd period of the game. Post-game coach Maurice didn’t have an update but did indicate he would know more on Sunday. However, the Jets coach wasn’t slated to speak today before the team left for Nashville so we were going to have to be reliant on if the team made a recall from Manitoba.
Jets Insider Jamie Thomas announced on twitter this morning that it “appears Toby Enstrom will be out 8 weeks with a lower body injury (which is unrelated to previous knee issues)”. Enstrom has played in 19 games this season and has zero goals and two assists. He has been paired with Dustin Byfuglien for the most part.
As a result of this injury the Jets will recall Tucker Poolman from the Manitoba Moose.
