Five games in seven days caught up with Winnipeg as they run out of gas in Washington and drop tonight’s game 4-1 to the Capitals.

Notable:
Just prior to puck drop associate coach Scott Arniel indicated that Cole Perfetti had been injured in the game last night against the Bruins and that he would be evaluated further in Winnipeg. It appears the injury took place as a result of this hit.
Fairly unremarkable opening period except for Alex Ovechkin tying Gordie Howe for 2nd on the all-time goals list with his 801st.
Same for the middle frame as the Jets gave up another and didn’t have a lot of gas left in the tank.
Despite a goal from Kevin Stenlund the Jets couldn’t mount much of a comeback and then Alex Ovechkin surpassed Gordie Howe’s record and moved into sole possession of 2nd spot with 802 courtesy of an empty net goal.
