Recap:
Quite the game in St. Louis. Blues and Jets battled all night and it required extra time before a winner would be decided. It ended on a beauty by Bryan Little after a phenomenal assist by Patrik Laine (as aside who knew he could pass so well).
As you can see below the Jets were the more penalized of the two teams which included having to kill a Josh Morrissey penalty which he took with just over two to go in the 3rd.
Stats:
Post-game audio:
Blake Wheeler: On the gritty nature of that win. Team stepping up with Scheifele out of the lineup. What was the difference for him playing centre? On the overall defensive play tonight. How important is this win? Importance of the two points. Is the monkey off their back with the win? Was he thinking pass to Thorburn all the way? On the penalties.
Chris Thorburn: On not having 55 in the lineup. On Wheeler’s pass. On what capitalizing early in the game does for the Jets? Getting good feelings back in the locker room. On the penalties being called one way. Being physical the way they needed to?
Patrik Laine: On the chemistry between him and Little. Four goals in three games, how does that feel? On the goal the Blues scored after his shot. Was he surprised be that open in OT? Was it a bounceback game for the whole team? How important was it to break the road losing streak?
Bryan Little: Did they deserve the win with how they played? Does he like playing with Laine so far? Surprised that it didn’t go top corner as opposed to on his stick? How much did the locker room need that win? Does a night like this make the wait to get to 100% a little easier?
Coach post-game:
Paul Maurice: Did he feel his team deserved those two points? One of the better four line games? On the job Michael Hutchinson did for Winnipeg. On the way the Jets handled the two quick Blues goals. On the chemistry between Little and Laine. On the “must win” aspect of that game. On Blake Wheeler playing centre. On winning the “right way”. Update on Scheifele. Is Scheifele possible for tomorrow? On the penalties.
