Recap:
For the first time this season the Jets were shutout. The team just didn’t have it this night and the Sharks did, getting production from Logan Couture who scored 5 on 5 as well as shorthanded which broke open the game.
The big question for Winnipeg is the status of Steve Mason (more on that below) who left after 20 minutes. If he is going to be out then the next question is who will the Jets call up? Will it be Eric Comrie or Michael Hutchinson? Both have been playing well for the Moose. Comrie is 8-4-1 with a 2.30 GAA and .927 save% while Hutchinson is 6-1-0 with a 2.13 GAA and .939 save%.
The Jets are now 14-6-3 on the season and remain in 2nd place in the central division.

Status of Steve Mason:
Coach Maurice was asked about the status of his goaltender who left the game after 20 minutes. “He just wasn’t feeling right towards the end of the 1st but when he came in he was off so we pulled him just as a precaution. We’ll get him looked at tomorrow to see how he is.” When asked if it was the blast up high coach Maurice indicated he wasn’t sure “He stayed in and said he was OK after that. We talked to him at the timeout. By the time he got off that ice he was not feeling right and for us that’s just enough, he’s gotta come out.” The Jets return home on Sunday and Mason will be further evaluated said coach Maurice “We’ll get him looked at tomorrow and we’ll get a real good idea as to how he’s feeling.”
